Taraba Governor slashes state university fees by 50 percent

Taraba state Taraba state

Massive joy in Taraba as Governor Agbu Kefas slashed the state university fees by fifty per cent.

According to the state governor, his decision to reduce university fees was borne after he paid a visit to the university to assess the state of the institution.

He noted that this move will cushion the devastating effects of the subsidy which was recently removed by the federal government having caused many students the inability to afford the fees.

It is a known fact that shortly after the announcement of subsidy removal in the country, citizens began to raise concerns over the crippling effect it has on the masses.

Governor Kefas said that he discovered a total of 53 courses offered in the university are without accreditation, as well as the high cost of fees and the deplorable student hostels.

He also raised concerns on the failure of graduates of the university to attend NYSC or pursue the law degree.

This comes following his victory in the March 18, governorship election on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party.
