'Ignore Buhari, probe past government' - Shehu Sani tells Tinubu

The former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has urged President Bola Tinubu to investigate the past government officials and appointees under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a post shared on his social media page on June 30, the social critic noted that those funds looted under the Buhari's administration should be recovered with culprits prosecuted.

"Tinubu should ignore Buhari and go ahead and probe the past Government and recover looted funds. If President Tinubu failed to go after looted funds, looted funds will come after him sooner or later," Sani stated.

Days after Bola Tinubu assumed office as President, he ordered the suspension of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

He also directed the removal of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Chairman, Abdul Rasheed Bawa.

Also service chiefs were ordered to retire from office and be replaced.
