Stop blaming government, take responsibility - Reno Omokri to Nigerians

Reno Omokri Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed Nigerians blaming the federal government over the current hardship in the country.

In a post shared on his Twitter page, Omokri noted that the country has become like a cow that is being milked without been fed and will soon die as a result.

He charged Nigerians to desist from blaming the government and take responsibility for their contributions towards the failed stated of the country.

Omokri tweeted; "Perhaps it is time for us to curb our entitlement mentality. It has gone on for too long. How much taxes do Nigerians pay? We have one of the lowest tax bases on Earth. We have an oil income of $30 billion to a population of almost 250 million. Stop blaming the government. We as citizens have to take responsibility. Nigeria is like a cow that everyone is milking, and no one is feeding. It is only a matter of time for that cow to die!"

His comment comes following the number of concerns Nigerians have expressed over the hardship in the country after President Bola Tinubu took over from former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Some Nigerians who disagreed with Reno's submission, took to his comment section to share their view.

@stayingpositif: We should stop blaming the government. Who should we blame?.
Those countries with high population and good and striving economy got tow heads?

Sometime you don’t think when you write. Go and read about leadership .

If you want an appointment from the government, say it out .

If you understand the power of influence of values, morals, ethics and principles of a leader on his followers you will know that most of the leaders in Nigeria lacks one or two of these .

Leaders lead by example

Yaqub Abbakasim: We respect your contributions as a good writer. It expedient to also look into the excesses of our leaders. They have engrossed so much into milking the cow without feeding it as you ve said. Our major challenge is with the leadership.

ALEX CHIMEZIE: Yeah u probably right. But some countries have way more people and still provided for their population.
How many of the basic amenities are actually provided properly by government of Nigeria?, Is it electricity?, Housing?, Or water?. Nigerians pretty much do all these themselves

@ooguntayo24: Who r those eating subsidies money,
Who r those collecting billions for refineries in moribund
Who r those collecting dollars before & during election,
What hv govt achieved with taxes they've bn collecting
Pls, 250 millions Nigerians aren't sharing $30 millions, Politicians do

Yusuf tijjani luka: I have disagree with you on so many front, but on this matter you are a friend, go to Garkida former chief of air staff, and see the armies of almajiri from Nearby African countries couple with our Nigerian almajiri you wonder what they are doing there, and nobody ask questions,

Abua Gloria: Lowest tax payers...n the flamboyant lifestyle of politicians...cut down the incentives politicians enjoy &see how the business becomes less profitable to them

Younick: I feel there is no point here. What exactly should we pay tax for, we fix virtually everything ourselves , government are always der to steal. We get ourselves electricity, we are the security becos police officer don’t do der jobs, to increase minimum wage is a problem.
