The Public Relations Officer of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Abiodun Olanrewaju has confirmed the death of Salako Treasure

On Thursday morning, Olanrewaju said it was true that the Part 1 student was was the institution's student and it was true that she was found dead from apparent suicide.

"Yes, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University was found dead. Her death looked like suicide but it is yet to be acsertained.



"She was a bright student but the colleagues said they noticed her display signs of depression.

"We also commiserate with her famiky and friends but we want the youth to know that there are ups and downs in this life and students should not give up when they encounter challenges.

"We also want people to watch out for each other and when they notice any unusual behaviour from their friends and the colleagues, they should reach out to them and report to the appropriate quarters for action to be taken."

Miss Salako, a 100 level student of the Department of Entrepreneurship was found dead on Wednesday.



It was gathered that her dead body was discovered in an uncompleted building in Lagere area of Ile-Ife.

It was also gathered that friends and colleagues had been searching for her before the discovery of her body on Wednesday.

Beside her was found a bottle of sniper of which was suspected to have been used.

However, it is unclear if the student actually took her life willingly but past records suggest that Miss Salako have been showing some symptoms of depression which might possibly led to her decision to end it all.
