I was attracted to his aspirations - 2015 interview of Fani-Kayode's ex-wife, Yemisi resurfaces

Mrs. Yemisi Wada was the ex-wife of former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

In a 2015 interview with The Punch that has resurfaced, Mrs. Wadda spoke about her marriage to the APC Chieftain.

At the time of her marriage to Fani Kayode, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mrs. Wada who is currently married to another top millionaire revealed that she has no fond memories of her ex-husband, Fani Kayode.

The woman who had three daughters for the politician also said that their marriage didn’t last long as presumed by people.

“As a young girl, if anybody had told me my marriage would break up, I wouldn’t have believed it. That is why even after three children, I knew I would remarry. I don’t know if it is that love of being a wife or to run a home. Whichever, I love being married. I have no fond memories of ex-husband, Femi Fani-Kayode, except having my daughters, as I am sure he would say same if asked.

“What people do not seem to realise is that we were together for only a very short while. The marriage itself lasted less than three years. The fact that I have three daughters makes it seem longer, but I left just when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter,” she said.

She however disclosed that what attracted her to the lawyer was his aspiration towards his career.

“It was a long time ago but I think at the time, all the men I knew were clubbing like I was but he was already serious in politics. He was a national youth leader of his party and the proposal was very direct as he said, ‘I am in politics and I need a homemade” She revealed.
