A video is making rounds of some stranded Nigerians in Sudan lamenting as bus evacuating them stops half way.

According to the Nigerians, the bus drivers complained over unpaid fares and abandoned them in the middle of a dessert enroute to Egypt where a plane they will be airlifted back to Nigeria.

Recall that the Chairman/CEO, of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said that 13 buses containing about 1,500 Nigerians are expected to arrive soon in Aswan, Egypt.

She noted that Air Peace airplane will be leaving for Egypt Thursday night and will be expected to arrive in Nigeria on Friday.

“13 buses will soon be arriving. That’s what I am going to address now. As I speak to you, we are expecting about 1,500 Nigerians.

“And also, Air Peace will be leaving tonight from Nigeria to pick them up from Egypt and bring them back safely to Nigeria by tomorrow.”

The Federal Government has earlier said $1.2 million was spent to deploy 40 buses to evacuate at least 2,400 stranded Nigerians out of Sudan.

However, some students took to social media to lament over their predicament. They express fear as they have been left in an unknown area with no food and money.
