Thank you for tolerating me - Buhari; Nigerians react

President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for tolerating him for the past eight years in office.

He said this when residents of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, paid him Sallah homage, on Friday, April 21.

In his message he asked Nigerians who may have been hurt while undertaking his constitutional duties to forgive him.

Buhari noted that he is looking forward to retiring to his Daura home after he sign out on May 29.

He also mentioned that he got all he asked of God and would quietly retire home.

He said: “Thank you for tolerating me. I consider myself lucky to have been a governor, minister, head of state and now President for two terms.”

“I can’t wait to go home. I deliberately arranged to be as far away as possible from you people.”

Muhammadu Buhari was appointed as president of Nigeria on May 29, 2015 and re-elected in May 29, 2019.

Reacting to Buhari's message, Nigerians took to social media to share their thoughts;

Adanne: You tried your best according to your capability. The blame goes to those that voted for you.

Jon Anyanwu: Well, we had no choice. But you are welcome all the same.

Azu Chima Daniel: We thank God that we are still alive after 8 yrs of suffering

But frankly Nigerians, what did Buhari's eight years really achieve? At least there should be one thing, just one thing

I have always said Buhari never caught me unaware, and his Administration didn't disappoint. It must have been CHANGE
