List of politicians Wike sponsored in the 2023 general elections

Dino Melaye, a former senator has revealed the list of politicians Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike supported in the 2023 presidential elections.

Speaking in an interview on Arise TV, Melaye stressed that Wike had no political influence in Kogi and can not influence voters in the state to vote against him.

To buttress his point, he disclosed the list of politicians who lost in the general elections despite enjoying support from Wike.

He said: "Wike has no political power to influence anything in Kogi State. And I am telling you that he is getting it wrong. Wike sponsored Sandy Ojang Onor in Cross Rivers and he lost. He gave him cars and money, yet he lost."

"Wike sponsored my friend and brother, Albert Akpan in Akwa Ibom, Akpan lost to PDP. Wike refused to support Adeleke in Osun state, but he won. Wike vehemently supported 3 of the G-5 governors and three of them lost their senatorial seats. Today what is the value of Wike's support?"

Dino Melaye clinched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket for the 11 November governorship election in Kogi State.

This comes after he scored 313 votes to defeat other contestants in the primary held at Kafa’s Hall event center in Lokoja amid tight security.
