Eboue's messy divorce resurface on social media after PSG's Hakimi 'outsmart' Spanish wife in viral report

Former Arsenal star and Ivory Coast international, Emmanuel Eboue has been dragged into the viral report concerning the alleged divorce between Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi and his wife, Hiba Abouk.

Hakim, 24 has dominated the trends on various social media platforms after news emerged that the footballer had registered all his properties and monies in his mother’s name, and whenever he needed anything, he would ask his mother to buy it for him.

This discovery was made during ongoing divorce proceedings in court after his wife who is also a Spanish actress filed for divorce and asked for half of all the property and money the footballer owned.

The Moroccan international owns nothing despite earning millions of Euros with Paris Saint Germain and the Moroccan national football team per several reports.

All his houses, cars, clothes, and jewelry were found to be in his mother’s name, and millions in salary were deposited in accounts bearing his mother’s name. Thecitizen reports that 80 percent of all that he owns is registered in his mother’s name.

While the conversation has dominated the news cycle, Eboue's messy divorce from his ex-wife, Aurelie Bertrand has resurfaced. Recall that there were rife reports that the defender went completely bankrupt after the divorce battle stripped him of his assets in England in 2017.

The Ivorian was reportedly rendered homeless and struggled to find daily bread having lost every bit of his wealth to his ex-wife.

Eboue was reported to have resorted to perching with friends and family abroad in order to have a roof lay over his head.

He has since debunked the rumors of him being broke.

Speaking in an interview in 2021, he said: “When [people] say Emmanuel Eboue lost everything, it’s not nice…

“Because I had a divorce [case] and they [court] said my wife won, they gave her all my properties – my two houses, money and the cars that I had in England.

“I wasn’t worried about it because I expected that she was going to use it to take care of my children.

Eboue admits he had to overcome depression from the divorce ruling.

“When they [court] said that, I was very disappointed… To be honest, for the first time, I was very down but after that, I prayed and forgot about all of that.”

He continued: “So after that, I left and returned back to Africa. I have my own properties in Africa and so I live with that.

“When I hear people say Emmanuel Eboue lost everything, I laugh. I have properties in Ghana, I have properties in my home country (Ivory Coast).”

Achraf Hakimi and Spanish actress Hiba Abouk who began dating in 2018, married in 2020 and have two sons. She filed for divorce around March 2023.

Hakimi is being investigated in Paris, France, for alleged rape.

He initially broke up with his Ivorian ex, after he moved to Europe.

He contemplated suicide.

His ex wife exploited his illiteracy by giving him papers to sign, knowing he couldn't read them.

He asked her to manage their financial affairs, and mostly went to the bank with her.
