Afrobeats star, Davido has spoken about his performance at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Davido made his return to the stage after a long hiatus following the death of Ifeanyi.

The singer joined Trinidad and Tobago's Cardona to perform the official World Cup anthem "Hayya Hayya,'" along with Qatari singer Aisha.

The trio performed the song to a crowd of about 88,000 fans at Lusail Stadium. The closing ceremony, which was named "A Night to Remember," featured other musical acts like Puerto Rico's Ozuna and the Democratic Republic of Congo's Gims.

Davido's much-talked-about performance at the Qatar FIFA World Cup came several hours before Argentina defeated France in a 4 -2 penalty shootout.

He said of his performance: "The world cup was different because there are 100 million people watching you. As I said, in the preparations before the show, you have to be so slow to mess up. We rehearsed like 3 days back to back but you just realize that it is the World Cup and it is the job. You can't mess up basically."
