Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide has taken to social media to appeal to the next president of Nigeria, to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

He also appealed that Yoruba separatist, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho should be allowed to return to Nigeria.

Recall that Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation activist, fled Nigeria to Cotonou, Benin Republic, following an invasion on his residence by the Department of States Services, DSS.

In November 2022, Igboho expressed optimism that the movement to actualise the Oodua Republic would materialise, stating that he has not given up on the agitation.

Igboho also reassured his supporters that he would soon be returning to Nigeria.

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the pro-Biafra group, IPOB was also arrested in Kenya through a collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and Security Services and brought back to Nigeria to face treason trial in 2021.

He has been detained in the facility of Nigeria’s secret police, the SSS, in Abuja.

In September 2017, Kanu fled the country after an invasion of his home by the military in Afara-Ukwu, near Umuahia, Abia State.

He has since remained in the SSS custody while several Nigerians have called for his release.

Reno on his Twitter page, urged the next president to aid the release of these men.
