I want run away if invited - Wike says as EFCC hints at arrests corrupt governors after May 29

Nyesom Wike has said he will avail himself should he be called in for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after his tenure expires on May 29.

According to him, he won't run away from the country due to the fear of the antigraft agency.

His comment comes after EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa said the agency would arrest some corrupt governors whose tenure ends in less than 3 months.

Wike said he would gladly honour the EFCC if invited at the end of his tenure on May 29.

The governor spoke on the Channels Television breakfast program, Sunrise Daily on Monday.

“I’m not going to run away because of EFCC. Why should they invite me? If they invite me, I will honour their invitation. I will not run away,” Wike said on Channels Television, Monday, March 27.
