Enrolment into the National Identity Data Base (NIDB) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) as at March 24, 2023 has risen to 97.49million with Lagos State recording the highest cumulative enrolment figure of over 10.7 million.

According to the latest stat released by the NIMC, regional figures indicated an almost equal distribution across the North and South.

According to the gender distribution of the figures, the male gender dominated with 55,229,381 representing 56.6 per cent while the female gender recorded 42, 260,974 representing 43.4 per cent.

NIMC further broke down the figures to show the top 10 states which included Lagos that posted 4,873,867 female and 5,850,205 male enrollees bringing the total to 10,724,072; Kano State followed with 3,615,177 female and 4,891,271 male, bringing the total to 8,506,448.

Kaduna State followed Kano with 2,639,474 female and 3,274,752 male and a total of 5,914,226.

Ogun State had 1,965,547 female and 2,129,012 male and a total of 4,094,559.

Oyo State posted 1,826,094 female and 1,992,222 male enrollees and a total of 3,818,316 while

FCT Abuja recorded 1,397,183 female and 1,956,176 male enrollees bringing the total to 3,353,359.

Katsina State had 1,347,232 female; 1,986,105 male and 3,333,337 total numbers; Rivers State posted 1,313,756 female and 1,617,887 male bringing the total to 2,931,643; Bauchi State had 947,980 female and 1,688,434 male and total of 2,636,414 while Delta State posted 2,601,782 total enrollees comprising 1,220,259 female and 1,381,523 respectively.

According to NIMC, the list of the 10 bottom states included Akwa-Ibom with 769,644 female and 894,246male and 1,663,890 total numbers.

This was followed by Imo State with 1,637,750 total distributed in 797,836 female and 839,914 male; Enugu State had a total of 1,565,281 with 775,059 female and 790,222 male.

Yobe State posted 520,206 female enrollees and 968,254 male and total of 1,488,460;

Taraba State posted 563,071 female; 863,835 male and 1,426,906 total; Cross-River registered 497,443 female; 618,770 male; and total of 1,116,213; Ekiti State recorded 503,293 female and 490,926 male and 994,219 total.

Ebonyi State had 348,927 female; 430,972 male and 779,899 as total while Bayelsa State and Diaspora recorded 274,864 female, 342,534 male 617,398 total and 163,285 female; 223,804 male; 387,089 total respectively.
