A trader in Abia state was spotted weeping uncontrollably after Alex Otti of the Labour Party won the governorship election.

On Wednesday, March 22, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC declared Alex Otti the winner of the 2023 governorship election.

Alex Otti polled a total of 172,386 votes to defeat his closest contender Mr Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered a total of 8,8174 votes to come a distant second.

After the announcement, several residents took to the streets to celebrate. A woman was also seen expressing her excitement as she went on her knees to pray and thank God for Alex Otti's victory.

The woman wept uncontrollably as she prayed with gladness in heart.

Reacting to the video, some Nigerians took to social media to share their thoughts.

angelaeguavoen: This is what a true win looks like, not the one that the whole nation was sad after INEC did us dirty.
CONGRATULATIONS ABIA

francis_of_arsise: People will not understand. PDP have been in control of Abia state for 24 good years now. No good roads, owing of salaries up to 20months. No good infrastructure. The people don’t have a sat. Aba on its own generates a lot of revenue but nothing to show for it. People are very tired of one particular set of people ruling the state. You won’t understand what God has done in Abia state. The beginning of a new era. God bless Abia State
