Shame on INEC for turning our country into a comedy station of the world - Reuben Abati

Former presidential aide and Arise television anchor, Reuben Abati, has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over the handling of the electoral process during the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.

Abati who was stunned by the outcome of the election held on Saturday, March 18, described the election as a burlesque.

According to the popular journalist, he believe that the election was conducted by thugs and touts who replaced INEC.

Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote;

"What just happened in Nigeria? An election or a burlesque? Even masquerades voted. Touts and thugs replaced the Electoral Commission and took charge. Shame on INEC and the security agencies for turning our country into a comedy station of the world."

His comment comes following the numerous attacks by thugs on residents. snatching of ballot boxes. disruption in several states.
