Oyo: Makinde equals Governor Ajimobi's record after re-election

The incumbent governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has been re-elected to govern the state for four more years.

His victory means he equals the history of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and becomes the second governor to secure re-election in the state.

Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 31 out of the 33 local government areas in the state.

He polled 563,756 to defeat his closest rival Teslim Folarin by 256,685 votes.

Accord Party, AP, candidate, Adebayo Adelabu came a distant third polling 38,757.
