Representatives of Kokun Foundation play videoRepresentatives of Kokun Foundation

A video has emerged of some foreigners distributing a box of free raw foods to Nigerians in an attempt to sway the people to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress.

The foreigners who wore an APC cap have been identified as representatives of Kokun Foundation, who declared support for Sanwo-Olu's re-election.

Prior to the governorship and state Assembly election, Sanwo-Olu who is seeking for a second term was spotted in different areas of Lagos state greeting and conversing with residents.

The video which was shared on social media, has raised concerns whether it was right for a foreigner to be involved in vote buying in support of a political party.

Others slammed the Chief Executive Officer of Kokun Foundation, Adepeju Olukokun for associating his foundation with politics.

Below are some comments;

drcollins_: What rights does a foreigner have to come to Nigeria and share palliatives in support of a political party? Please correct me if I’m wrong, in developed countries even permanent Residents have no voting rights.

karamjnr: @drcollins_ yeah you are very right, As a foreigner you have absolutely no right to participate in the country’s election or political activity. But we have foreign envoys that are sent to supervise

preciouschinel: Having Lebanese people to share food item to the so called Giant of Africa. Omo….. the shamelessness don too much for this country.
Very soon they will start contesting for presidency.

ajokeroyalty: Wahala Lebanese feeding Nigerian’s Oma se oooo, please who did we offend in Nigeria that swear for us to continue languishing in poverty. The poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer, bad economy, corrupt government. May God heal our land and give us good leaders that will have empathy on the people and a good conscience to human service. Elections is just few hours away, decide how you want to live in Nigeria for the next four years, he who has ears let him hear. A word is enough for the wise. As for me and my household, we will never beg to feed. *sad*

official_obiprince: Good deeds but WHY NOW?! WHY NOW?! MR. GOVERNOR! WHY??? irrespective of the deeds, once its with an ulterior motive, let them do it themselves, everyone is liable to support whoever they want but you see this people?? The Sanwolu etc n cabinet... They do not care!!! Look at all this eye service after 4 years and now you forcing palliative just to get vote! I forgive o but to forget...that one nah lie! I know a family here in Lagos that in shambles because their only hope was shot Dead in end SARS . you want to come n tell them to vote Sanwolu again?! Never!!

fa_a2_195: Them don turn everything to politics na wa ,wen will the masses get things from the government without conditions? this is bad for our country

damilolami001: Oga koku foundation, I am deeply disappointed in you. You sold your conscience

straight_2_d_point: Definitely this is what you like to see... your fellow humans fighting for crumbs, so they can all look up to your as some deity, while your praise singers massage your ego on Instagram. Kokun, you of all people know exactly why these people are in this mess..BAD GOVERNMENT!!!. What angers me most is the fact that you are openly selling and marketing their oppressors to them again to keep oppressing them BIG SHAME!!!. This your NGO is no longer a humanitarian organisation, instead i see it as a vote buying wing of APC govt in lagos state. As for those Lebanese, we know they are fighting to secure their fraudulent contracts with the government of the day.
