Labour Party (LP) candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against tampering with election materials ahead of the governorship polls.

In a video that has since gone viral, Rhodes-Vivour told officials of the electoral body to prepare for a "photoshoot" because everyone will be bringing their phones.

His threat comes after the controversy that was generated following the announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as president-elect.

The February 18 election was marred with irregularities and has led to the aggrieved party's contesting the processes that led to Tinubu's victory.

"INEC officials, this Saturday, get ready for your photoshoots. Everybody is bringing out their phones. You have nowhere to hide. We are going to document every single step that you take. Get ready you can't fight the people and win. Vote Labour Party top to bottom."

Meanwhile, Rhodes-Vivour on Thursday visited the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.

The LP candidate was at the palace of the revered monarch alongside his father, Olawale and his team.

“I was accompanied by my father and team to visit and pay our respects to the Oba of Lagos, we indigenous Lagosians will always respect and revere our traditional rulers, and I look forward to working with them to build a better Lagos,” Rhodes-Vivour tweeted.

The governorship election is slated for Saturday, March 18.
