Chaos erupted in Sokoto state over the Bola Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alleged alliance.

This comes after the INEC declared Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election that took place on Saturday, February 25.

Residents in Sokoto were seen running helter-skelter with gunshots heard from a distance.

On Wednesday, March 1, the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu became the president-elect of Nigeria as he awaits to be sworn-in as the President.

Fight broke out in Sokoto over the outcome of the election. The residents seem displeased that the electoral Commission declared a winner despite the irregularities that occurred during the election.

The Independent Nigerian Election Commission (INEC) announced final results early on Wednesday, after a chaotic count lasting almost four days.

Bola Tinubu was announced winner after defeating two of his closest rivals with a total of 8,794,726 votes.

Many believe the election was not credible and that it lacks transparency as it was marred with violence, chaos and illegalities.
