Rivers state adjourns result presentation over alleged death threats

The Rivers state has adjourned the result presentation over several death threats to the State Collation Officer of the Presidential Election (SCOPE), Professor Charles Teddy Adias.

According to Prof. Adias, his life and that of his family has been threatened and that photos have been shared on social media with people accusing him of rigging the election in favour of a particular party.

He said, he has been receiving several calls and messages of threats to his life and family hence the need to adjourn the result presentation.

The officer said, his job is to receive reports of the results from LGA collation officers and that he has no access to the figures of the results.

He called on INEC and the security agency to intervene and address the death threats.
