Nigeria’s U20 MNT coach Ladan Bosso says the team’s aim is to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Bosso was a relieved man after Nigeria secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations match over host and group A foes, Egypt, this Wednesday.

The Flying Eagles fumbled, coming off the block as they were handed a defeat by Senegal in their first group game, however they bounced back to with a slim win over the hosts.

Solomon Agbalaka’s header from a corner kick in the final 20 minutes of the encounter secured maximum points and got the record champions back on track.

A win in the last game against Mozambique will take the team closer to it’s target of reaching the last four, as they currently sit second in Group A behind Senegal.

In his reaction after his side’s victory, Bosso described the moment as fulfilling and the opportunity that lay ahead for the team.

“Our main goal is to reach the World Cup, and we strive hard to achieve this goal,” Bosso said.

“I would like to thank the organisers of the tournament and everyone who belongs to this organisation.

“They helped us a lot and I am very grateful to them,” the Flying Eagles Coach concluded.
