Scarcity of new naira notes causes uproar

This scarcity has led to slow economic activities and disgruntled citizens who are disappointed by the government as many others are forced to buy their country's currency at high rates from POS operators.
Recall that the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele in November 2022, announced the new N200, N500 and N100 notes and noted that the old ones will cease to be used as legal tender.
The deadline has since brought about pressure from Nigerians to change their currency which has caused some shocking realizations.
Officer shot protester
A police officer was reported to have shot a protester demonstrating over the scarcity of the new naira notes at Sapon in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Nigerians design their own currency to spray at party
It has been revealed that as a result of the scarcity of the naira, some Nigerians have printed their own currency which has the image of their face on the paper. These monies are used in spraying celebrates at the events.

Aba residents cook, eat in bank
It was reported that some Nigerians in Aba, Abia state arrived at the ATM point with gas cooker and other cooking utensils. The young men were videos eating noodles from a pot after waiting in a queue for over hours.

Bank staff jump fence to run for their lives
A video showed how bank staff had to make their way out of the banks by jumping the fence to prevent getting assaulted by the angry customers who could not access their money as a result of the scarcity of the naira notes.
Protesters Vandalise ATMs
It was gathered that in Ogun states, some of the protesters of the naira scarcity attacked banks and destroyed some Automated Teller Machines.
