The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers state, Tonye Cole, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency in the state.

According to Cole, the political crisis rocking the state is as a result of Executive Orders 21 and 22 that governor Nyesom Wike recently signed.

This was contained in a statement signed by Sogbeye Eli, the Rivers APC 2023 campaign council's spokesperson.

Report indicate that the crisis ravaging the state is due to the Wike's orders.

Cole noted that the opposition parties in Rivers state are under siege. Adding that there are violent attacks caused by tugs or hoodlums allegedly working with the Governor.

He mentioned that the thugs and road blocks in Egberu community, to obstruct the access of Magnus Abe must be put to an halt.

Cole revealed that the APC governorship campaign held at Rumuwoji play ground in the Mile 1 area of Port Harcourt was attacked by gunmen.
