Human right activist, Aisha Yesufu has been called out for dancing at campaign rallies while wearing her hijab.

On social media a post from an angry Muslim slammed Aisha for showing off her dancing skills while dressed in her hijab at Peter Obi’s campaign rally.

Aisha Yesufu has been on the campaign trail with the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to call on Nigerians to vote for him in the upcoming general election.

In the post making rounds, a Twitter user with the name Aboo Farhin cautioned Aisha to remove her hijab anytime she wants to vibe to a music at a campaign rally.

The post said; “Dear Aisha Yesufu, please the next time you think of vibing to music on the campaign trail, excuse yourself and remove the hijab. We cannot risk having female Muslims belabored with having to explain themselves everytime you are caught in a web of gaffes like this.”

Reacting to this, netizens countered the Twitter user as they questioned other male Muslims such as Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima who dance to music at their campaigns.

Here are some comments;

ifeyinwa_joy_chiamonwu: It is this mindset that have kept us where we are today. What's wrong with Aisha's dancing? Nigerian and Iranian Muslims really have so many learning and unlearning to do. They should go and learn true Islam from Dubai, Morocco and Qatar.

People commenting here that religion is the poster problem, yes in this case it should be. Her behavior is not that of a muslim woman. He only said drop the hijab. I’m a muslim and y’all just want to make my religion so bad.. all this kind of comments would even piss people off from the religion! Is that what the Holy Book says!
