Free Kanu for Obiozor’s sake, IPOB urges Fed Govt

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday said Ndigbo would be glad if its leader Nnamdi Kanu is freed as championed by the late Prof George Obiozor and others.

It commiserated with the Obiozor family over the death of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

It also condoled with the family of Ohanaeze Deputy President General, Chief Joel Kroham, who passed on in August last year.

IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, said Ndigbo lost two strong pillars in the two men.

“Igbo family lost two Irokos who have kept shade over their people.

“IPOB lost people who have been working and speaking during their lifetime, urging the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu.

“The movement also worked closely with Late Elder Amaechi Mbazuluike, who died on November 1, 2022.

“These men demanded that President Buhari and his APC government release Mazi Kanu.

“We continue to urge the Nigerian government to release Mazi Kanu because of these great men who are now in the bosom of the Lord.

“Ndigbo will be very grateful if the Federal Government of Nigeria releases Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for peace to reign in the land of the rising sun.”
