Ladan Bosso targets U20 AFCON glory

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso says his target is to win the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (U20 AFCON).

The tournament will be hosted by Egypt and serves as African qualifiers for the FIFA U20 men’s world cup.

The Flying Eagles qualified for the African Cup of Nations after winning the WAFU B U20 Championship earlier this year.

Bosso’s boys are unbeaten in seven friendlies since they set up camp in Abuja.

“With the support of the stakeholders, we hope to win the AFCON just like the WAFU,” Bosso told reporters.

“We have three friendlies with NPFL clubs before embarking on Christmas break.”

The Flying Eagles will know their group stage opponents on December 23.

The seven-time champions and 11 other countries will compete for honors at the tournament which is scheduled to hold between February 18 to March 12.
