Former Nigerian defender, Ifeanyi Udeze is impressed with Morocco’s coach Walid Regragui following the team’s impressive run in Qatar.

Regragui took Morocco to the semi-final of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, only weeks before he had attended a Coaching course with another young exciting Coach, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Morocco got the better Belgium, Canada, Spain and Portugal on their way to becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup.

“I’m happy to hear that he even had a zoom session with Mikel Arteta some months ago,” Udeze said on Brila FM.

“He wanted to understand how Pep works. Of course, Arteta was Guardiola’s (Pep) assistant.

“The Morocco coach learning from Arteta was nice to know. He wants to learn, and anyone can learn from anyone,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Morocco lost 2-0 to France in the semi-finals at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.

They’ll face Croatia, who themselves kissed their hope of winning first World Cup goodbye after a 3-0 defeat to Argentina, at the Lusail for a bronze medal match up on Saturday.
