An old video showing the terrible state of Lagos in the year 2000 has surfaced.
During this year, the current presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the governor of the state.
After gaining power in the year 1999, Tinubu governed Lagos state and earned himself the title 'God father of Lagos'.
During his tenure as Lagos state Governor, President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Atiku Abubakar were the leaders of the country.
In the 30 seconds clip shared on Twitter by @NigerianStories, Lagos was known to commute people using a dysfunctional yellow vehicle called "Molue".
The roads were deplorable with potholes and piles of garbage littering everywhere.
Residents were seen walking through the mud as the buses moved along while traders sold their goods.
Lagos state has undergone some changes, although some residents claim there hasn’t been much change since 2000, when Tinubu was the governor.
Bola Tinubu who is now contesting for president of Nigeria has been campaigning on the back of his "impeccable record" as governor of Lagos state.
