Bus conductor refuses to accept new Naira notes; passenger left stranded

A video is making rounds of a bus conductor refusing to accept the new Naira note given to him by a passenger.

The viral video showed the bus conductor demanding that the passenger alight from the vehicle as he cannot accept the new naira note.

Other passengers in the bus quizzed him as to his reason for refusing to accept the new naira. In response, he said he does not know the new naira note but the old notes.

The stranded passenger proceeded to inform the bus conductor that the new naira note was the only money she had and it would be difficult for her to alight and get a different vehicle as she is running late for work.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that the newly redesigned naira notes will go into circulation on Thursday (today) with Deposit Money Banks releasing the bills to their customers via over-the-counter payments.
