Moffi laments Super Eagles absence in Qatar 2022 World Cup

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has opened up on missing out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Moffi with 10 goals for FC Lorient in French Ligue 1 is one of the most in form strikers in Europe top five league this season, along side Victor Osimhen, who has 9 goals in thee Serie A.

Paul Onuachu is also leading the scorer in the Belgian Jupiler league, while Alex Iwobi remains one of the brightest stars in the Premier League this season.

Moffi however admitted that Qatar would have been a perfect opportunity for the team to showcase themselves to the world.

“We are disappointed not to be part of the World Cup because every player dreams of being on the biggest stage of football,” Moffi said.

“It would have been great being at the World Cup because many of us are doing well at our clubs.

“But since we didn’t qualify, it does not count for much.”

Nigeria missed out of a place in Qatar after losing to Ghana in the playoff.
