He urged residents of the state to be calm and law abiding.

“We condemn in strong terms the incessant killings and destruction of properties in Bassa, Riyom , Jos North, Jos South and other parts of Plateau.

“We sympathise with families of those who lost their loved ones as a result of these attacks and pray God to comfort and grant them fortitude to bear the loss.

“We wish to also urge citizens to be calm and obey all directives by government to enable security agencies to restore peace and order within all the affected areas,”he said.

The president, however, urged security agencies to double their efforts at fishing out perpetrators of the heinous, dastardly and unprovoked attacks devoid of bias, saying that nobody was above the law.

He said that the perpetrators must be brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.

He commended Gov. Simon Lalong and heads of various security agencies in the State for their prompt response in bringing the situation under control.
