Youths urged to embrace sports as viable business venture

The Katsina State government has called on the youth population in the state to embrace sports as a professional and business venture that is capable of uplifting their fortunes and that of their immediate families.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mustapha Mohammed Inua, who made the call at the flag-off of the Zawiya Alheri Unity Cup 2021 Football Tournament which is taking place at the Katsina State Township Stadium, noted that participating in sports like football tournaments not only ensures the player keeps fit but engages him into profession and business with the capacity of bringing good returns.

He said: “The round leather game can bring fame and help in knowledge acquisition.”

The SSG thanked the organisers of the competition for their quest to promote and reunite the youths in the state to work in peace and harmony.

The Zawiya Alheri Unity Cup 2021 Football tournament has 32 clubs across the state participating in the competition, with two clubs from the state capital taking part in the opening match.
