Two years after president Muhammadu Buhari signed the N30,000 minimum wage into law, the implementation is yet to take of in ten states.

In some states, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) had to embark on a protest before the states government complied to the directive.

Meanwhile Kano state government has been accused of slashing the salaries of workers instead of following the president's order.

According to the Union leader, Comrade Okon, he described such action by Kano state as illegal.

He was of the believe that it was criminal for any government to reduce or contemplate not paying salary that had been passed into law.
