Super Falcons departs USA Summer Series with great lessons - Waldrum

Randy Waldrum says he’s encouraged by the Super Falcons showing against the World champions, United States of America on Thursday morning.

The Falcons lost to the Americans 2-0 in their final game of the 2021 Summer Series game in the United States.

Goals from Christen Press and Lynn Williams were enough to hand impressive Super Falcons side a defeat at the Q2 Stadium, Austin, Texas.

Speaking of his girls after the game, he was Randy Waldrum said he is proud of their overall performance in the tournament.

The Falcons suffered two defeats and a draw in three matches at the invitational tournament, but the American gaffer insisted his side will depart the tournament with a great lesson.

“I am enamoured by the professionalism of the players and their courage even when they are on the back foot.”

“They played very competitively against the best team in the world and I am extremely proud of them. The Summer Series have come at a good time for us, as we were able to see a number of new players. The girls also came up against strong teams and did not fare badly.

“Lessons have been learnt and I am delighted with our performance and general attitude on and off the pitch.” he said.
