Former Jigawa Chief Judge Aminu Sabo Ringim was killed in a single car accident in Ringim Local Government Area's Shafar village.

The event was reported to newsmen in Dutse by Mr Adamu Shehu, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa Command.

“At around 1 p.m. today, the deceased, who was driving a Peugeot 206 from Dutse to Ringim, lost control on a hairpin bend along the Chaichai-Ringim road in Shafar village, Ringim LGA.

“The previous Chief Judge and his son were involved in the incident,” Shehu stated.

All of the victims were brought to Ringim General Hospital, where the ex-chief judge was pronounced dead, according to him.

The son, who suffered varying degrees of harm, is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital, according to an NSCDC spokeswoman.

When contacted, Hajiya Zainab Baba-Santali, a representative for the state's Ministry of Justice, acknowledged the occurrence and promised to publish a comment soon.

“As soon as the state's Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Dr Musa Adamu, returns from the burial, the ministry will publish a statement regarding the deceased.
