Lauretta Onochie, media aide to President Muhahammadu Buhari has applauded Nigeria for establishing an initiative for other countries to emulate.

In a tweet on social media, Madam Lauretta shared a video of Ghanaian Vice President Muhammadu Bawumia indicating that the country will begin registering the SIM Cards with the Ghana Card from the end of June 2021.

The Vice president said this during his presentation at the Ghana CEO Summit.

Elated Lauretta Onochie commending the Ghanaian VP for following in the footsteps of Nigeria, adding that "Where Nigeria leads, others follow."

Last year the federal government of Nigeria announced the registration of all SIM Cards in the country or forfeit the sim.

The government also made compulsory the NIN (National Identity Number) which is part of the sim registration and activation.
