Fire guts Cairo market in Lagos

The Cairo Market in Oshodi-Isolo, Lagos has been gutted by fire.

The fire which destroyed several shops occurred on Thursday night, May 6, 2021.

Although the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known.

According to The PUNCH, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Nosa Okunbor said responders arrived the scene to manged to put out the fire.

Adding that no casualties has so far been recorded.

He said, “Upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was observed that some shops were on fire. The cause of the fire is unknown as at the time of writing this report.

LRT, LRU Fire & LASG Fire are responders at the scene.

“The fire has been put out by the combined efforts of the responders. Damping down ongoing. No casualties recorded.”
