Okorocha spends second night in EFCC custody as he fails to secure bail

Senator Rochas Okorocha has failed to secure bail 24 hours after he was arrested in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former Imo state governor was arrested on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, and is currently being questioned over a N7.9 billion alleged fraud perpetuated during his tenure as governor of the state.

According to Lindaikeji, a source in the antigraft agency said the former governor is yet to be granted administrative bail.

"The former governor has been undergoing interrogation in the last 24 hours. He has not been admitted to bail. There are a lot of transactions which he ought to clarify.

So far, he has been cooperating with our team. He might need to go through some documents and give his own side,” the source said.
