Terrorist group, Boko Haram is said to be planning an attack on Nigeria's busiest state, Lagos.

This was made known to MyNigeria by a source under the condition of anonymity.

The source said the group is currently in Lagos ready to strike. He said in a chat, "Please don't ignore this very important message, I have an Intel that Boko haram are now in Lagos ready to strike please be security conscious."

He encouraged Nigerians to avoid huge crowds especially places of worship. He said, "worship places should double up their effort to ensure safety for worshipers."

"God be with you all," he added.

This will not be the first time reports of imminent attacks on Lagos have surfaced.

In 2015, BBC reported the group were trying to expand its activities beyond Nigeria's mainly Muslim north, to include the commercial capital Lagos, as well as other parts of the country, officials say.

According to the intelligence agencies at the time, 12 members of the Islamist group were arrested in Lagos between July and August 2015.

Boko Haram has waged a six-year insurgency in Nigeria, mainly in the north-east of the country.
