Kidnappers shot dead in Abuja after exchange of fire with police

In what will gladden the heart of many Nigerians, men of the Nigerian police have made the country proud by removing two criminals from the face of the earth.

This comes as the police operatives gunned down two kidnappers in Anguwar Hausawa, Naharati community in Abaji Area Council, Abuja.

They were killed during an exchange of gunfire with the police and members of the vigilante group guarding the area, Daily Trust reports.

According to a resident, the gunmen in their large numbers swooped on some houses in Anguwar Hausawa.

He said before the arrival of security operatives, the gunmen had broken into some houses and whisked away four persons.

The persons kidnapped were identified as Abdullahi Umar, Abdulkarim Yusuf, Abubakar Umar and 13-year-old Abdulrahman Isah.

Meanwhile, an attempt to abduct students of Turkish International Secondary School, Rigachikun, Kaduna, has been foiled by troops of 1 Division in the state, the Nigerian army has confirmed.

Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, director army public relations made the disclosure in a statement on Friday, March 12, 2021.

According to Yerima, the school was protected by troops when bandits headed to the Federal School of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Igabi LGA of the state.

In another report, residents of Okun-Owa community in the Odogbolu local government area of Ogun state wrote a letter to the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, over the death of two hunters.

The corpses of the hunters were found on the Oko Agerige farm in Okun-Owa. The letter was signed by the leader of the community, Asiwaju Sina Ogunbambo.
