Kelechi Iheanacho was on target for Leicester City as they moved to second on the Premier League table following a 2-1 win at Brighton.

The Nigerian international scored his second goal within the space of four days after helping the Foxes get back into the game while trailing in the first half.

The Seagulls took the lead in the tenth minute through former Liverpool striker Adam Lallana courtesy of an assisted pass from Neal Maupay.

Lallana should have doubled the advantage later in the game after his glancing header completely beat Kasper Schmeichel but not the post.

The Foxes returned from the break the stronger the side played with a lot of intensity as they pushed for an equalizer.

They were finally rewarded two minutes before the hour mark as a lovely through pass from Youri Tielemens found Iheanacho and the Nigerian brilliantly chipped the goalkeeper who thought he had him covered for the equalizer.

Schmeichel had to make another fantastic save from Lallana to keep his side in the game at the American Express Stadium.

And three minutes to the end of the game, a costly mistake from Brighton cost them the game. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez's poor punch landed kindly for Daniel Amartey to score into an empty net to make it 2-1.

Leicester moved above Man United to second place on the league standings following the win as they stay in contention to finish the season strongly.

It was Iheanacho's only second goal in the Premier League in as any games and his seventh in all competitions.
