We cannot be talking about IPOB, ESN when herders carry AK-47 in South-East - Obi of Onitsha

Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, has replied to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abukarka Adamu after he told Igbo leaders to caution proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its security outfit Eastern Security Network (ESN) on their activities in the South-East region.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of finance and administration, Joseph Egbunike, who represented Adamu, said that on Tuesday at the women's Development Center in Awka, during the Anambra State security summit. He also warned that the recent trend of burning police stations will no longer be tolerated, adding that freedom cannot be achieved through violence.

However, in response to what the IGP said, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe pointed out that they are worried about the Fulani herders that carry guns in the region and said they cannot be talking about IPOB and ESN while there is that threat.

"We Cannot be talking about IPOB and ESN when the Fulani herders were allowed to carry AK-47 in the South-East without anyone checkmating them," said Igwe Alfred Achebe.
