Video: Fight breaks out between NURTW factions in Obalende

A clash between factions of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, broke out this morning, culminating in gunshots being fired.

The fight started at about 8 am today, Feb 11, in Obalende, Lagos Island.

Footage from the area shows the usually busy Obalenede roundabout was empty during the clash, save for the warring parties.

They had weapons, including machetes and guns.

Motorists, passengers and passersby avoided the area once the clash broke out.

It took the intervention of soldiers to bring the fight under control but people have been advised to avoid the area if they can.
