Alex Iwobi featured for Everton in their thrilling FA Cup round of 16 victory over Tottenham Hotspurs at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Iwobi started the match and was impressive as Everton sealed their place in the last eight with a 5-4 win after extra time.

The forward was involved in Everton’s fourth goal scored by Richarlison before he was substituted for Bernard in the 63rd minute.

Davidson Sanchez gave Spurs the lead with less down five minutes into the match, but it was the Toffees who went into the first half break with a 3-1 lead, thanks to goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Spurs fought back to level the scores as Erik Lamela and Sanchez’s second of the game made it 3-3 with a little over 30 minutes left to play.

Richarlison later put Everton back in the lead at 4-3 but substitute Harry Kane scored a late header to take the match into extra time.

Bernard then grabbed the winner for the Toffees five into the first half extra time.

The tie was the highest-scoring FA Cup game between two top-flight teams since February 1961 when Sheffield Wednesday beat Man Utd 7-2.

Everton, who have reached the quarter-finals for the first time in five years, will find out who they face in the last eight in Thursday evening’s draw.
