Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu is grieving the loss of his mother, weeks after Super Falcon star, Asisat Oshoala announced the death of her mother.
Announcing the news on social media, the 32-year-old described the day as the worst day in his life.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also confirmed the news by sending their condolences to the Nigerian international, Soccernet.ng said.
Ogu has always spoken fondly of his mum and how she sold food on the streets to provide for the family.
It has been a tough year for Ogu both on and off the pitch. The former Hapoel Beer Sheva star has been inactive for over a year.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since he left Al-Adalah last January. Although he has always stated his desire to return, he is yet to find a new club.
