We cannot be intimidated on our own land - Sunday Igboho response to IGP

Sunday Adeyemo, the popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho as he is known, has reacted to the Inspected General of Police's order for his arrest saying he cannot be intimidated.

Reports earlier indicated that Igboho caused an uproar in the country after ordering the Fulani herdsmen in Iganga, Ibarapa North Local government of Oyo State to vacate the area within seven days.

On January 22, the end of the seven-day ultimatum, Igboho addressed supporters in Igangan, demanding the Fulanis to leave the town.

However, on Saturday, January 23, the IGP ordered the arrest of Igboho over his quit notice to the Fulanis herdsmen.

Reacting to the IGP's order, he took to his Twitter handle questioned the police of the murder of a farmer, Dr Fatai Aborode perpetrated by the herdsmen.

His tweet reads: “And it’s not a crime to kill doctor Akorede? whose farm was invaded and destroyed by Fulani cows, later went to Seriki Fulani house to lay complain, but was tied and butchered and nothing happened?”

He noted that he is not intimidated by IGP's arrest order, saying that he and his people are more prepared for the battle ahead.

"We are not afraid of you. We are more prepared than you think. We can not be intimidated in our own land," Igboho said.
