Golden Eaglets coach, Fatai Amoo, is satisfied with the performance of his boys despite their 1-1 draw against Ghana on Saturday.

They had earlier lost 1-0 to Ivory Coast in the Group B opener on Wednesday.

The former Shooting Stars coach, who rued the missed chances his team squandered in the Ghana game, added that they were unlucky not to have won the encounter.

“Actually, the first game we played, the boys were jittery because it was their first time playing in an international competition,” Amoo said.

“Even with the draw, I am delighted that my boys showed that can play. We had the advantage in terms of chances created in the second game against Ghana. We tried to win but we were unlucky it didn’t just happen.”

The Eagles will have to wait for the result between Ghana and Ivory Coast to know if they will qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.

For the Eaglets to advance to the next round, Ivory Coast must defeat Ghana by more than a goal margin.
