Jose Mourinho has suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an exceptional player in the leagues of footballers who are above the age of 30.

The Swedish striker has hit top form in the new season scoring eight goals in AC Milan's opening five games including three braces.

The 39-year-old is the main reason the Rossoneri are on top of the Serie A table with five wins and two draws from seven matches.

Mourinho has worked with the former Barcelona star during his spell with Inter Milan and Manchester United.

The duo won the Europa League, FA Cup and the Community Shield together during their spell at Old Trafford.

It is understood that Mourinho tried to reunite with the Swede at Tottenham before he rejoined San Siro giants Milan.

Mourinho discussed the requirements that allow a coach to do his job in the best possible way, and could not resist giving the credit to his old colleague.

He told Tencent Sports in a recent interview:

“There are jobs that require a special physical condition, like the footballer,” he said (via MilanNews).“A 40-year-old doesn’t have the same potential of a 20 or 30 year old, unless you are Zlatan Ibrahimovic. To train you only need your brain, experience and knowledge can only make you improve.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Jose Mourinho believes he still has the sparks that made the world to recognize him as the Special One.

The Portuguese gaffer has won the Europa League and Champions League with FC Porto as well as Man United.

His second season at Inter Milan saw him clinch the elite competition for the Nerazzurri who have waited for over 30 years.

Mourinho's spell at Chelsea saw him dethrone United's dominance in the Premier League to win the trophy on three occasions within two stints at Stamford Bridge.
