While the Federal government is yet to quell the growing tension in the country that was generated as a result of the #EndSARS protest, there could be another form of uprising in the country, only its time, in Nigerian football.

This follows a comment by former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West, who said he is ready to lead a protest against Nigeria's football authorities, who he claimed have siphoned and mismanaged the countries resources.

According to the dogged defender turned pastor, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will need to be reformed like the police. He added that he's ready to lead a protest to see that happen.

“We are going to protest against those that have hijacked our football system,” Taribo told the Punch.

“Everything happening #EndSARS in the Nigerian system must also affect the football house. ‘People with integrity must run the football house because money that has been siphoned, embezzled & mismanaged can’t be quantified.

“Work of God is in my spirit, but football is in my blood. I’ll lead a protest against the mismanagement of funds in Nigerian football, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist added.”
