The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has predicted a tragic end for those behind terrorism in Nigeria.

Adeboye made the prediction on Friday, October 9, via his official twitter handle.

The clergyman who suggested that his prediction was backed by a divine origin, stated that terrorists and their sponsors in the country will not see the new year.

Adeboye said:

“I decree in the Name that is above every other name, any terrorist and any sponsor of terrorists in Nigeria, will not see the new year."The pastor's statement has generated huge reactions with thousands of likes, comments and retweets.

Adeboye is one of the religious leaders in the country who does not shy away from making comments on national issues.

Recently, he warned the federal government that Nigeria may break up if the country is not restructured.

Adeboye gave the warning on Saturday, October 3, at a symposium to mark Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day celebration.

He told his audience that the federal government must find a lasting solution to secession agitations and its economic challenges by restructuring the country.

However, the presidency responded by telling Nigerians to refrain from trying to compel the federal government to take decisions on restructuring.

Garba Shehu, one of the spokespersons to the president in a statement on Sunday, October 4, described such comments as unpatriotic outbursts.

He said the Buhari administration would not succumb to threats and take any decision out of pressure at a time the nation is dealing with security challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic.
